Objective

The objective for this project is to create an original design Multipurpose Community Center utilizing an architect's style. The project should include enough parking spaces for civilians and sustainable aspects that highlight the unique features of the building.

Concepts & Design Inspiration

The first step to my project was to find my architect of choice to take inspiration from. The legendary architect whom I decided to study and learn from was the late and great Frank Gehry. His simple yet dynamic use of shapes was a great inspiration for what I had in mind for my project.

These are the Original design concepts and plans I had for the design of the model. I wanted to incorporate plenty of dynamic elements that highlight the features that were represented by Gehry's architectural style. Plus, the inspiration from the utilization of sandstone that the native tribes used for their homes.

The bubble diagram was used to interpret the overall flow of the building. to ensure that the building was functional and lucrative for the community center's use.

Then I came to an impasse; I wanted to choose a unique quality for the building that would ensure it stood out and created a distinct environment for the inter-building. To find this aspect, I looked at the surrounding culture of the Central Valley. I took inspiration from the former tribes that lived in the valley, the Yokuts. and the Mariposa tribes.
